Traditional Home: Country Music Star Luke Bryan's Florida Retreat

“This is a family house where they can create moments and make memories,” Chad James says. “That was the goal.”

Snowmen may be an anomaly on the beaches of Florida, but we know of at least one. Perched on a powdery stretch of sand in Santa Rosa stands country music superstar Luke Bryan and wife Caroline’s four-story beachfront home, which they named “Snowman” in honor of Luke’s late brother, Chris. The moniker references a sport Chris loved—golf—and a funny bit of slang golfers use for scoring an eight on a single hole.

“Evidently, Chris wasn’t a great golfer,” Caroline says. “Snowman became his nickname. We named our farm Red Bird Farm after Luke’s sister and wanted to honor Chris as well.”

Editor at Large: Showroom meets shop in Jonathan Adler's first designer-focused space

Chad was recently quoted in Editor at Large speaking about Jonathan Adler's new space in NYC.

“We often use Jonathan Adler candles in our design projects—their scent is fresh and reminds me of home! They also have the best pillows, and their unglazed pottery is another accessory go-to for us.”

Chad's favorite? The Shelter Island candle.

New York Spaces: Celebrate Holiday House Hamptons' Extended Dates

Chad James was highlighted in New York Spaces, The Home Design Magazine of Metropolitan New York.

"Chad's room immediately caught our eye with the juxtaposition between the dark wood-paneling and the use of contemporary art and décor pieces. Chad, who chose May Day as his holiday, said, "The room was dark, I wanted to lighten up the space and add a touch of springtime whimsy fitting for a Hamptons home." He combined masculine elements with a nod to femininity, integrating a neutral color palette with hints of lilac.A prime example of this blend can be seen in his use of the stately masculine antique Continental Mahogany Table used with a feminine-esque art deco bench. Both pieces were provided by Newel, the decorative arts gallery in New York."

Billboard: That Ain't No Shed! Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and More Country Stars With Palatial Party Barns

Chad James was recently highlighted on Billboard.com in a story about country stars' party barns. His work with country's Luke Bryan was referenced.

"Like many, Bryan’s barn, which took its inspiration from Tennessee’s famed restaurant and hotel Blackberry Farm, embraces Southern history and heritage. In creating the space, interior designer Chad James sourced antique lumber from a shuttered factory in Georgia for the structure and reclaimed cobblestone from a street in Charleston, S.C., for flooring. “They want it to look like it has been there a while and not made in China yesterday,” says James of the barn owners with whom he has worked. (He has designed five party barns in the last few years.) The Bryan space was further customized with indoor sleeping quarters and a stage for impromptu musical performances, and accented with an 18th-century Italian chandelier and a number of Bryan’s hunting trophies."

Homes and Interiors Scotland: Nashville house is given 21st-century design details to love

Scotland's Homes and Interiors recently highlighted an epic Chad James project in Green Hills.

“It was still in amazingly good shape, having been built with the finest materials and technology of the time,” points out the designer. “But the interior style felt a bit over the top – it was incredibly opulent, with lots of gold and gilt detailing. Our goal was to edit the extravagance and bring the interiors up to date.”
